	Hydrophilicity Affinity for water of a substance caused by isolated charges or by highlypolar groups able to interact strongly with the highly polar watermolecules. There are also molecules with a hydrophilic moiety whereas theother moiety is hydrophobic, e. g. in detergents. This composition iscrucial for their cleaning effect.
