Metal
Designation for the chemical elements, which, in pure form, in form ofalloys or intermetallic compounds, featute all of the followingcharacteristics:Chrystallinity, metallic gloss, strength, ductility,strengthenibility, electrical and thermal conductivity, decomposition inparticular acids under formation of salt solutions, in which the metalsexist as cations. Metals can be formed by such methods as rolling,tearing, pressing, and forging. At usual temperatures, they obey the lawof Dulong-Petit. The majority of chemical elements are metals.
