	Plasma polymerisation Coating method involving the polymerization of organic molecules in aplasma and their deposition on a substrate’s surface. As plasmapolymerisation is initiated by cleavage of chemical bonds in the monomermolecules, saturated compounds can also be polymerised by plasma.Generally, plasma polymers are characterized by a less regular structureand a higher degree of crosslinking than analogeous polymers synthesizedin liquid phase. Numerous applications, e. g. in the area of barrierlayers, hydrophilic layers, hydrophobic layers, etc.
